Arunika Eatery is the only restaurant in Kuningan that opens for sunrise. Every Saturday and Sunday from 06:00, we serve breakfast on a wooden deck 1,100 metres above sea level — with the full face of Gunung Ciremai in front of you and the mist still sitting in the valleys.
Our table sits on a cantilever deck above Palutungan village, with the Ciremai massif filling the horizon. On clear mornings you can see the sun rise over the ridge and the mist lift off the valleys — live, slow, for free.
Arunika opened because nobody was serving breakfast high enough. The villages below have food, and the summit has rangers — but there was no table between them with a view and a proper espresso. We built one, in wood, on the edge.
The deck is 1,100 metres above sea level, in the hills of Palutungan. On weekdays it's our lunch and afternoon-tea spot. On weekends — every Saturday and Sunday — we open at 06:00 for sunrise service. Kopi, teh artisan, telur setengah matang, roti panggang, ubi rebus. The simple things, warm, while you watch the mountain wake up.
Arunika Garden sits next to the deck — a small kebun we tend ourselves, planting the herbs that end up on your plate. Bring a book, bring a friend, bring nothing. This is not a place to rush through.

We open at 06:00 every Saturday and Sunday. First light typically breaks over the ridge between 05:45 and 06:15 depending on the season.
Palutungan is 40 minutes up the mountain from Kuningan town. To catch first light, you'll want to leave Kuningan by 04:30 at the latest.
Our west-facing deck has only 24 front-row seats. They book out a week ahead on long weekends. Reserve via WhatsApp.
At 1,100 mdpl, mornings sit around 16–18°C before the sun lifts. Bring a jacket. We'll bring the kopi.
Arunika is as much about the land it sits on as the food it serves. We work with Palutungan farmers, Kuningan UMKM, and the people tending the ridge.
